The Ultimate Guide to 2020 Dine Out Vancouver Festival

Canada’s largest annual dining celebration, Dine Out Vancouver, officially starts for the 18th year. From January 17, 2020 to February 2, 2020, this festival features hundred of restaurants, each offerings menus priced at $15, $25, $35, or $45 per person, not including beverages, taxes, and gratuity. With a wide selection of cuisine, diners can be adventurous to visit the new restaurants. However, with hundreds options, it is difficult and expensive to try every one of them. So, I compiled a list of restaurants that I think it is worth to go based on my regular dining experience and quality-price of the menu.

An Authentic Bowl of Taiwanese Beef Noodles at Torafuku

Though Vancouver has many Taiwanese restaurants, I haven’t found a place with a good bowl of Taiwanese beef noodles. I noticed that Torafuku launches a new lunch menu, featuring Taiwanese beef noodles. At first, I thought it was just another hyped item, but not until I tried it myself, I am impressed by its flavor and how similar it is to the ones in Taiwan.

Mixx Bao: Taiwanese Bao Eatery arrives Vancouver

Mixx Bao, a Taiwanese fusion snack bar, is launching a grand opening event today. The first 30 customers will get a VIP card that they can redeem one free bao per month for 10 months. Other customers can enjoy a selected items for 25% off. Mixx Bao offers some authentic Taiwanese snacks that you can’t find in Vancouver. The chefs are moms from Taiwan that can create delicate, delicious dishes from scratch. I was invited to a media event few weeks ago, and I got to try a bit of everything on the menu.

Celebrating BETA 5 8th Birthday

Do you still remember the cream puff collaboration with Amy from Constellation Inspiration at BETA 5 few months ago? To celebrate BETA 5’s 8th birthday, they decided to bring them back as part of the 8th Birthday Pack. I didn’t buy the birthday pack, but instead I went lineup on Saturday to purchase some treats for Mr. and myself. The first 100 customers who purchase $25 or more can get a box of 12 pcs birthday-edition chocolate for free, and that’s the main reason for me to line up!

Torafuku: Celebrating their 4th Anniversary with an Omakase Dinner

Torafuku is celebrating their 4th anniversary with a special omakase menu this year, which showcases signature food items, along with daily chef specials. I was lucky to make a reservation on the last day of this omakase menu. You can choose between a 7-course or a 10-course menu, which is $45/person and $55/person respectively. And of course, we went for the 10-course menu! Each set comes with a complimentary amuse bouche and handmade bonbons from Buttermere Patisserie.
