To escape from the crowd and the expensive Valentine’s Day dinner, we decided to have a lunch at Nightingale on the weekend instead. There are few reasons for us to choose this restaurant:
- I really enjoyed my first visit with my coworkers.
- This is opened by David Hawksworth, who also owns my most favourite restaurant in Vancouver, Hawksworth Restaurant.
- We saw roasted bone marrow on the menu!
Right across the Boiling Point in Richmond, there is a new-ish bubble tea shop, Bobii Frutii. It is originated from Taiwan and, this is the first Canadian store. They specializes in photogenic bubble tea with no preservatives, stabilizers, or artificial coloring. In addition, all drinks are served with their signature pearls, original, brown sugar, or butterfly pea flavour. Have you tried the mochi muffins (also known as moffins) from Yama Cafe or Usagi Sweets? They are addicting and delicious to munch on as an afternoon tea snack. However, they are quite expensive ($1.25 to $1.50 each) especially I lost control and bought dozens of them. So after doing some research online, I decided to make my own version of moffins! I referenced a recipe from one of my favourite baker, Michelle from Sift and Simmer. Valentine’s Day is in the corner, so I decided to make some treats for my friends and coworkers this year. And meringues cookies are probably the best gifts for anyone in any occasions.
