Located on the same block as Sushi by Yuji, Cafe Xu Hue is probably one of the most recommended Vietnamese restaurant in this neighborhood. A lot of foodie friends said that it is famous for the Bún bò Huế.
What is Bún bò Huế?
I did some research on this, because to be honest, I do not know what it was until I entered the restaurant. So, bún means rice vermicelli, and bò means beef. This famous dish is originated from Huế , which was the former capital located in Central Vietnam. The soup base usually contains a great balance in spicy, sour, salty, and sweet flavor. What is better than a cup of latte? A photogenic latte with beautiful latte art. Richmond recently opens a cafe, Zenstone Coffee. And they are famous for their latte art and specialty coffees, such as Purple Yam Latte and Citrus Black Sesame Latte.
Richmond is an area that lacks of cafe, or just anywhere to sit down and chill with friends. Instead, we mostly hang out in pools and dart places. This simple café just makes me want to go to Richmond more now! When I first walked in, it gives me a very peaceful feeling. It is bright and quiet, which is definitely a very nice place for me to study or to write my blog. Continue reading “Zenstone Coffee”
If a fan of Bubble Tea, but still wants to remain healthy like me, something new has arrived in Vancouver. I discovered a hidden gem, RAD Tea Room, in Granville skytrain station (located at the Dunsmuir Street exit). Yes, you read it correctly! It is right inside a skytrain station.
From interior design to the smallest detail, such as the cup and ingredients selection, it is made of warmth and care. Their tea is sourced from a family-owned local farm in Taiwan, and they blend the tea themselves. In other words, each cup of Bubble Tea is made of natural, healthy, and fresh ingredients. I was invited to a media tasting event, hosted by ChiHuo (@chihuoinvan), a WeChat media company. There were ten participating food vendors, including Baker & Table Cafe, Snowbear Bakery, Butter Mere, 45° Bubble Tea House, Moment Dessert House, Ran’s Deli Food, L’OTUS Cake Boutique, TeaTure Tea Lounge, Choco Coo Desserts, and Cha Le Tea Cafe.
When I saw this event posted on Instagram, I was so excited because the vendors are all some of the infamous local and online dessert stores in Vancouver. And some of them have always been on my to-go list, but I haven’t had a chance until now!
