Time for some wasabi kicks into our food crawl – Sushi by Yuji. Melody chose this restaurant, because it is reasonably priced, and the ingredients are super fresh. More importantly, we are here for some egg porn!
Sushi by Yuji is a hidden gem on Nanaimo Street. Though it is small, they serve some of the best sushi in the Kensington area. We again ordered some of the daily specials, as well as the signature nigiri sushi. I only tried two sushi, Aji (Spanish Mackerel) Nigiri and Ika Mentaiko Gunkan, because I was full after two restaurants LOL!

I have to admit that I’m not a veggie lover, and most of the time, I think I’m “allergic” to vegetables! But I really like our second food crawl stop – CHAU Veggie Express. It is one of the most popular restaurants on Victoria Drive, which serves traditional Vietnamese vegetarian cuisine. Most of the dishes here are also gluten-free. They also have a location in Granville Island, but I personally think the new location is way more accessible.
CHAU Veggie Express is a self-served restaurant, where you order at the counter and seat wherever you find comfortable. Since it is called “Express”, the food comes out fairly quick, so customer turnover rates are fairly high. We ordered four items to share.

My foodie friends and I went for a food crawl last Saturday in the Kensington area. We went 6 different restaurants to try some of their signature dishes. Starting from today, I will blog about one restaurant per day for the next 5 days. So here we go!
The first stop is Hoi An Cafe, the only one Viet restaurant that serve authentic Central Vietnamese food in Vancouver. We ordered some of the signature dishes to share, which includes their infamous Mì Quảng, an authentic Vietnamese turmeric noodle dish, Cafe Sữa (Vietnamese Ice Coffee), and much more!

Recently, there are a lot of new cafes and dessert places opened in Burnaby, and one of my favorite would be Mon Paris Patisserie. It has a very classy and simple interior design. As soon as you step in the store, you can smell the aroma of chocolate. The pastries and sweets are displayed beautifully, and what always caught my attention are the bonbons!
