On Yogurt

Who wants to stay healthy, but can still eat delicious desserts? On Yogurt is one of the options in Yaletown. This is where I first tried ice fried yogurt. It is absolutely cool to watch the progress of making it, and more importantly, it is gluten-free and organic. For the past years, their menu expands to also include drinks, waffles, pastry, and bubble teas. This tiny shop just brings dessert to a whole new level. Continue reading “On Yogurt”

Sharetea [Cambie Location]

What is better than drinking bubble tea in a pouring day? Drinking more than one bubble tea in a day. Today, I am glad to be invited to a media tasting at Sharetea‘s new location on Cambie Street. The interior of the shop is very similar to the Richmond location one, except that it is larger, which is full of artistic decors. Compare to other locations, it is definitely quieter, so I would say it is a good study or hangout spot with friends. Continue reading “Sharetea [Cambie Location]”

Restaurant Yugo

When anyone asked about Japanese-French fusion, I immediately thought of Pidgin, but now there is a new restaurant on this recommendation list – Restaurant Yugo. The restaurant uses the simplest decor and lighting. Inside, you can see a marble sushi bar table, where you can have more interactions with the owner and the chef. This is definitely one of the hidden gem in West End.

To me, excellent service always comes first, before anything else, including food quality. And in here, I love how the owner and the chef patiently introduce each dish’s details to each of their customers. You may think I am exaggerating, but you can definitely see that passion from that smile. In addition, they serve the most unique dishes with some of the best ingredients I have tried. RAD Tea Room

If a fan of Bubble Tea, but still wants to remain healthy like me, something new has arrived in Vancouver. I discovered a hidden gem, RAD Tea Room,  in Granville skytrain station (located at the Dunsmuir Street exit). Yes, you read it correctly! It is right inside a skytrain station.

From interior design to the smallest detail, such as the cup and ingredients selection, it is made of warmth and care. Their tea is sourced from a family-owned local farm in Taiwan, and they blend the tea themselves. In other words, each cup of Bubble Tea is made of natural, healthy, and fresh ingredients. ChiHuo Vancouver Tasting Event

I was invited to a media tasting event, hosted by ChiHuo (@chihuoinvan), a WeChat media company. There were ten participating food vendors, including Baker & Table Cafe, Snowbear Bakery, Butter Mere, 45° Bubble Tea House, Moment Dessert House, Ran’s Deli Food, L’OTUS Cake Boutique, TeaTure Tea Lounge, Choco Coo Desserts, and Cha Le Tea Cafe.

When I saw this event posted on Instagram, I was so excited because the vendors are all some of the infamous local and online dessert stores in Vancouver. And some of them have always been on my to-go list, but I haven’t had a chance until now!
