TAO Skinfood delivers on Peach Gum

Peach Gum starts to become popular in Vancouver, and it is the Asian secret to beautiful skin. While it is often used in sweet soup and desserts, TAO Skinfood created a series of drink using peach gum, along with other natural supplements, such as goji berries and snow fungus. These drinks can be enjoyed chilled or hot, and they are my new favourite drinks in this summer.

Something Big just arrives at CAVU Kitchen Bar!

After creating the Le Big Mac N’ Cheese Burger back in September, CAVU Kitchen Bar just launches a new burger, incorporating the concept of surf & turf – The Baller. Putting both lobster and beef into one burger sounds like a very baller thing to do, yet CAVU Kitchen Bar did it again. We also tried other dishes, including cheese that is made in house.

You MUST get this dish in Happy Tree House BBQ!

A few nights ago, I suddenly craved for skewers, so Mr. and I decided to go Happy Tree House BBQ to satisfy my cravings. I often go to the Kingsway location, because it is closer to my house and is more spacious. For anyone who doesn’t know about Happy Tree House BBQ, it specializes in Chinese-style skewers and grilled fish. It has two locations – Kingsway and Richmond, and they are some of the few restaurants in Vancouver that open until late at night. I usually come here for skewers, but there is this one dish that I must order whenever I am here. Read until the end to learn more about this dish.

Bringing you to JiangHu for Authentic Taiwanese Dishes

Right Next to Hotpot Palace, there is another hidden gem that serves authentic Taiwanese pot and stir-fry dishes – JiangHu. It uses local ingredients to create some unique dishes that you rarely see in Vancouver. Recently, they launched a happy hour for late-night supper, which is best for any late night cravings out there, especially when everything closes early in Vancouver. This event is organized by Issabelle, the Community Manager of Yelp Vancouver, and I was so excited to be part of it. In addition, Feast: Asian Dining Festival also joined us for the night.
